TENET I
We are all of One Blood - treat others accordingly.
Do not view either yourself or others as superior or inferior, for we are all humans who bleed and that makes us kin. We are all connected to the first humans and that makes us kin. We are all Children of God and Children of Man and that makes us kin.
We are to treat each other as kin ought to - have love and compassion for each other.
We are not to punish any of our kin simply solely on the basis that they do not conform to our personal beliefs of what Mankind should be - for if everyone carried out punishment for what they disagreed with, everyone would be punished. We are not to punish our kin over victimless crimes.
Punishment inflicted from kin to kin should be weighted to the crime committed.
TENET II
Treat yourself as a temple.
The body and soul of every human being is a precious temple. Treat it well. Listen to your needs, and be wary of your wants, for they may not always be in your best interests.
Your temple connects you to the World, to the Creator and His creation, to the Metaphysical as a whole.
Nourishing yourself is not selfish, for having a healthy temple strengthens one’s ability to help others whose temples are in need.
TENET III
Do not lose your present self to your past or your future.
Krovians are to define themselves not by what they have done or what they think they will do, but by the actions and inactions they take in the present.
Healthy self accountability is a fine line to be walked, but it is one well worth walking.
On one side of the line are those who refuse to acknowledge their wrongs and live in snobbery and pretension.
On the other side of the line are those who define themselves by their wrongs and live in guilt and misery.
The way to truly live in the moment is to stay on the line as much as you can. If you stumble, do not despair. However long you get stuck in either of these painful territories, there is always a way back to the line.
TENET IV
Beware figures who use their fame, power, or influence to harm others.
There is a difference between faith and brainwashing, and that difference is freedom or lack thereof.
Krovians in possession of immense fame, power, influence, or other fortune should strive to use these fortunes for good rather than harm and should take all necessary precautions to not become one of the many figures who use their fortune to harm others.
TENET V
Even the Dark can provide shelter, and even the Light can inflict torture.
Do not try to force your darkness out of you, for you may end up inflicting more harm upon yourself or others by ignoring it. Instead, acknowledge it. Stare into its eyes and own it, rather than letting yourself be taken by it. Burn through it, channel it to do good, put it on a leash and make it your servant of good.
In this way, darkness is not always evil and light is not always good.
TENET VI
Strive to leave everything better than it was when you found it.
This concept is often applied to public places like parks or trails due to the effect that one person can have on the wellbeing of these places, but the same can be said of people, inanimate objects, animals, and ideas. Any good deed you do, no matter how small, could lift the spirit of another.
TENET VII
Strive for open-mindedness.
Krovians are to avoid claiming that they know everything, but instead remain diligent and ever-persistent in their pursuit of knowledge and different angles from which to approach things. Value can be found in all things, be it positive or negative value.
TENET VIII
If you find yourself struggling to adhere to one or more Tenets, look to other Tenets for guidance.
The truth is, no matter what angle one looks at it, no moral code is without contradiction or flaw, this one included. One may be influenced by one Tenet to do one thing and by another Tenet to do another…
For instance, one might think that condemning one’s mistreatment of another could be violating Tenet VII, for Tenet VII instructs to keep an open mind - thus implying that one person should not be given power to judge another.
However, Tenet IV directly condemns the usage of fortune to harm others, and Tenet I states that punishment may be necessary for those who have irreversibly harmed another.
Tenet I also instructs Krovians to live a life of love and compassion, and sometimes the most loving thing to do is to punish one so that that individual’s victims may have some peace.
TENET IX
Do not tell harmful lies, but if you have no choice but to lie to do good - do it.
Know the difference between a helpful lie and a harmful one, and act accordingly.
An example of a helpful lie is lying to save the wellbeing or even the life of someone who you know is not being persecuted for a good reason.
An example of a harmful lie is lying to cover for someone who has harmed others - or yourself - and is close to being caught for the damage they have done.
TENET X
Use envy as motivation to improve yourself, not bring others down.
If you find yourself envious of another, do not use your envy as an excuse to harm that person, for you have no right to do so if that person got that which you envy by ethical means.
Listen to your envy, but do not obey it. By listening to it you will find out what it is that you truly desire, and from there you can start planning a way to either get it or get over it.
